I used to think that there is one method of car design as this:

1- do the research, get the brief.
2- inspiration, moodboard.
3- sketch, sketch, sketch.
4- photoshop the selected design and more or less freeze.
5- 3D model on Alias with high quality surfaces.
6- clay modelling if you are lucky.

Maybe it was like that for many projects/companies. But not always and not for every project.
Depends on the project, company, budget, timeline, type of requirements and restrictions, it can be totally different process.

So it was always flexible, but today, it is whole different level.
With so many tools and the new technology, everybody can have different process. And the future, what is coming is impressive.
