Hi Ben, I’ve been integrating AI and various tools to streamline the ideation and development process in automotive design. For 2D workflows, I use tools like Vizcom, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel Painter. On the 3D side, I rely on Alias, Maya, VRED, and Rhino. For video and motion, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, and iMovie support my creative process. Each tool offers unique features that enhance workflow efficiency, but mastering them all is a challenge due to time constraints. For years, I’ve advocated for simpler, AI-driven 3D design processes. Tools like Vizcom are moving us closer to seamless workflows—from initial sketches to animations and 3D models. There’s no one-size-fits-all software solution; the best tools align with your budget, studio scale, and IT/security requirements. Having worked at Ford and other design studios, I’ve noticed hesitation in fully adopting AI. Many believe it merely recycles existing web content rather than generating novel ideas. However, studios prioritize their unique design language to ensure consistency across product lines. While AI doesn’t replace the designer’s creative spark, it excels at producing rapid variations and refinements, accelerating the ideation process. I’ve shared examples of this process on LinkedIn, showcasing Vizcom and other tools. The results are impressive, and the technology continues to evolve rapidly. Thank you, Ben, for raising awareness about these transformative tools. They’re reshaping industrial design, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes us.
